Dorothy Howie is a New Zealander who shares her time between her family home at Carey's Bay, Dunedin, and Auckland, where she is a researcher in the School of Psychology at the University of Auckland. She is the author of a number of books and articles on the teaching of thinking, including her 2011 book Teaching Students Thinking Skills and Strategies. Her poetry has been published over the last seven years, with poems appearing in a number of New Zealand journals, including Poetry New Zealand and We Society Poetry Anthology 2015.
