A Separation in My Family: A Child's Workbook about Parental Separation and Divorce

Author(s): Wendy Deaton and Kendall Johnson

Separation & Divorce

A Separation in My Family is a creative, child-friendly program designed for use with young school children, filled with illustrations and original exercises to foster healing, self-understanding, and optimal growth.

These popular workbooks are designed for helping children who have experienced trauma. Each has friendly but neutral artwork and plenty of space to write and draw. With one-on-one support and feedback, the child works through the exercises in the book, which are balanced between writing and drawing, left and right brain, thinking and feeling. All exercises follow a therapeutic sequence: creating an alliance, debriefing traumatic memories, exploring delayed reactions, teaching coping strategies, and integrating the experience.

For children ages 9-12
